I was immediately obsessed with The Umbrella Academy when it first came out on Netflix. Halfway through, as soon as that Tiffany song came on and the siblings started to dance, I knew there was no going back for me. I also love Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Castlevania and Merlin. What is your current obsession? My friend Michelle and I launched our podcast, Pop Culture Junkees, in 2019. I want the podcast to be a fun, positive and entertaining time where listeners can feel like they are geeking out with two of their friends. What's your favorite genre of book or movie? I love fantasy, sci-fi or action movies and I love sci-fi, fantasy, romance and YA books. |
,What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?
I refuse to watch (or read) the last Harry Potter installment. I just don't want it to ever end...
What's something you like to do the old-fashioned way?
I don't admit this to anyone but I prefer hand-washing dishes over putting them in the dishwasher. There is something meditative for me about hand-washing dishes. A lot of people say, "Oh you can wash mine any time!" But that's why I don't admit it.
Who's your go to band or artist when you can't decide on something to listen to?
At the moment it is Billie Eilish but for the past twenty years it has always been the Counting Crows. I've seen them in concert several times and will go to their concert any time they are in town. I'm also pretty obsessed with Lo Fang and Muse.
What book impacted you the most?
The Riddle Master of Hed. A friend of my family's gave me her Patricia McKillip books and that trilogy both introduced me to and made me fall in love with fantasy fiction. It blew my pre-teen mind and from that point on, I was hooked.
What is your spirit animal?
Tina Belcher.
What is one of your favorite smells?
Brewing coffee.
What was the best compliment you've received?
When one of my dad's friends said, "now I know you're a lineman's daughter" after I told a joke.
What lie do you tell most often?
I'll call you back later!
